Present Simple Tense (ปัจจุบันกาล)
คือ Tense
ที่พูดถึงเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้น
ในปัจจุบัน แต่ไม่ได้ระบุว่าการกระทำนั้นๆ สมบูรณ์แล้วหรือยัง
โดยมีโครงสร้างดังนี้

การเติม s,es
Verb คือ คำกริยาของประธาน หรืออาการที่ประธานแสดงออกมา โดยกริยาแท้จะมี 3 ช่อง แต่ในเรื่อง Present Simple Tense เราจะใช้กริยา ในช่องที่ 1 หรือ Present

Subject คือ ประธานของประโยค ซึ่งอาจแตกต่างกันไป
เช่น เป็นคำนาม (noun) เป็นคำสรรพนาม (Pronoun)
หรือเป็นประธาน
ชนิดอื่น ๆ ประธานจะมี 2 ชนิด คือ
1. ประธานเอกพจน์บุรุษที่
3 He, She, It และ คน สัตว์
สิ่งของที่มีจำนวนเพียงหนึ่ง
ตามด้วยกริยาเติม -s, -es
2.
ถ้าประธานต่อไปนี้ I, We, You, They และ คน สัตว์
สิ่งของที่มีจำนวนมากกว่าหนึ่ง กริยาที่ตามมาไม่ต้องเติม -s, -es
ตัวอย่างของแต่ละโครงสร้าง เช่น
1. She sleeps. (เธอนอนหลับ)
2. He speaks English very well. (เขาพูดภาษาอังกฤษได้ดีมาก)
3. Preecha writes a letter to his mother. (ปรีชาเขียนจดหมายถึงแม่)
4. They watch TV. (พวกเขาทั้งหลายดูทีวี)
5. I want to be a dentist. (ฉันอยากเป็นทันตแพทย์)
Present Simple Tense ใช้กับกริยาช่องที่ 1 เท่านั้น โดยนำกริยา
ช่องที่ 1 ไปเติมลงในโครงสร้างต่อจากประธาน มีข้อระวังอยู่นิดเดียว
คือ ถ้าประธานเป็นเอกพจน์บุรุษที่ 3 (He,She,It) กริยาช่องที่ 1
ของ Present Simple Tense ต้องเติม
-s หรือ -es แต่ถ้าประธาน
เป็นพหูพจน์

1 ไม่เติมอะไรเลยค่ะ
Wipa works in the office. (วิภาทำงานในออฟฟิศ)

ที่ work เพราะประธาน คือ Wipa ซึ่งเป็นเอกพจน์บุรุษที่ 3)
Jenny goes to school every day. (เจนนี่ไปโรงเรียนทุกวัน)
(Jenny เป็นประธานเอกพจน์บุรุษที่ 3 กริยาลงท้ายด้วย o เติม
-es)
We go to Chiangmai every Sunday.
(พวกเราไปเชียงใหม่ทุกวันอาทิตย์)
(go ไม่เติม -s, -es เพราะประธาน We เป็นพหูพจน์)

มีข้อยกเว้นด้วยนะคะ
ถ้ากริยาที่ลงท้ายด้วย -y แต่หน้า -y
เป็นสระ (a, e, i, o, u)
ให้เติม -s ที่ท้าย -y
ได้เลย เช่น
